With the holiday spirit already in the air and just around the corner, video game sales have continued to surge throughout the season. Just what games do you think are on the top of everyone’s wish list for the holidays? Some are pretty obvious answers – Super Mario Bros Wii, Wii Fit Plus, Wii Sports and of course Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Just this morning, Amazon.com has released their top most wanted and most sold games by region, including the US, France, UK and Germany. It is interesting to note how some of the sales have differed by region and sometimes by console. While Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 continues to the be the most popular game in almost all regions of video games sales, most have been purchasing this game for the Xbox360. Other video games such as Assassin’s Creed II and Uncharted 2 also show a strong showing, while the Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks and the new Sony Playstation3 Slim model are also noted on the top of most gamers wish lists.

However, since the Xbox360 was released almost a year before the PS3 and Nintendo Wii, we can probably presume that more people have an Xbox360 than other consoles. With this said, we can probably expect the Sony Playstation and Nintendo Wii to sell decently throughout the holiday season.
