So it’s just about that time – Bethesda has recently announced the development of another game into the Fallout series – Fallout New Vegas. Yes, the game will take place in post-apocalyptic Las Vegas, yes there will be plenty of mutated and evil cohorts to dispose of, and yes there will be hours and hours of more Fallout fun! For all of you that have spent countless hours completing Fallout 3 and any of the expansion packs have probably grown very fond of the franchise. As captivating as an RPG gets, Fallout was truly a pinnacle of video game creation due to its immense worlds, extensive storyline and character development. However, Fallout 3 definitely carried a very grim undertone (as it should in post-apocalyptia) and we truly hope that New Vegas may carry a more somber yet optimistic gameplay environment. By using the same graphics and gameplay engine [Gamebryo] since the release of Elder Scrolls Oblivion, Bethesda and Emergent Game Technologies have most definitely earned a significant return on their initial investment. Even today, their gameplay engines continues to surprise us gamers with the endless possibilities and potential abilities. Although we loved Fallout 3, we really wishes that there were a larger array of weaponry, armor, item collecting and gathering and different sets of side-quests such as portrayed in Oblivion. New Vegas may continue to take on these extremities and bring us to RPG heaven. Although New Vegas is not considered a sequel to Fallout 3, it most definitely takes place in the same ‘Fallout universe’ with a multitude of similarities. With a schedules release for the Fall of 2010 by Obsidian Entertainment, we truly hope that the Fallout legacy will continue on stronger than before. Check out the screen shots and videos below, more to come as soon.
