The Release: Wii – December
Nintendo has been on a huge roll ever since the advent of the Wii. Straying away from the conventional path of video game lineage – better graphics, better sound, and better speed, Nintendo chose to do something different. By creating and optimizing new technology that allows gamers to interact with the video games they play on a more physical basis, Nintendo has taken the edge in this competitive advantage. Simply put, playing games like Tiger Woods Golf and Wii Sports that allow you to physically take swings, jumps, turns, rather than pushing buttons on a controller, have added immense realism and interaction to the gameplay. Even more so, Nintendo is boasting a more robust lineup than Sony and Microsoft for the final month of the 2009 fiscal year. By also slashing console prices to a mere $199, the Nintendo Wii is here, and here to stay.
