Many of us are guilty of a very bad sin – achievement whoring. We buy games just to get gamer points, we let our brother and sisters, and even people we hate use our Xbox in the event they may score enough points, get enough kills, or do something unusually crazy to get you that achievement and unlock that trophy. Some people even go out of their way to buy Xbox live arcade games which are an easy source of points and somewhat easy to obtain. If you really wanna go cheap – buy King Kong. You can probably get a used copy on eBay or at GameStop for less than $20 – and you get the full 1,000 gamer points just for beating the game! Some games even give you points just for inserting the disc, or creating a character or starting a game. C’mon, go out there and make you’re girlfriend proud!

No we’re not talking about Olivia Munn – the beautiful cohost of G4′s Attack of the Show. We are talking about you – guilty of trying to unlock all those achievements without playing the game as meant to be! Well hey, there are other sides to this story. The game manufacturers have placed those achievements, some seemingly impossible to obtain, in the insight of all of us gamers. Websites have even been dedicated to this matter. Achieve360Points is a great site which outlays all achievements for all Xbox games. On the other hand I know some friends who are completely opposed to collecting gamer points, and could care less about their score. Is it really some sort of status symbol on Xbox Live? Do you really get intimidated by gamer tags that have 20,30,40 even 50,000 points?!?! Please send us some of your comments, we’d like to hear what you think.
